Republican Reps. Keith Self and Chip Roy of Texas are taking a strong stand by forming the “Sharia Free America Caucus” in the House, aimed at safeguarding Western civilization and the U.S. Constitution from incompatible ideologies.
Fox News Digital exclusively reported the initiative, highlighting the lawmakers’ determination to rally support against threats to American principles.
“Anytime you go to a fight, you bring as many friends with you as you can. I’m a military guy,” Self told Fox News Digital. “So what we need to do is build this caucus now so that we can start educating the American people to the dangers of Sharia in the United States.”
Self emphasized that Sharia is “fundamentally incompatible with the U.S. Constitution.”
The effort has bipartisan chamber potential with backing from Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., who could advance key legislation in the Senate.
Pushing Key Legislation to Protect National Security
The caucus plans to champion critical bills, including a ban on entry for foreign nationals who adhere to Sharia and designating the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization—measures designed to prioritize American safety and sovereignty.
“America is facing a threat that directly attacks our Constitution and our Western values: the spread of Sharia law,” Roy said in a statement.
“From Texas to every state in this constitutional republic, instances of Sharia adherents masquerading as ‘refugees’ — and in many cases, sleeper cells connected to terrorist organizations — are threatening the American way of life.”
These proactive steps address real concerns seen in nations like the U.K. and France, where unchecked migration and cultural clashes have fueled unrest.
Standing Up for Constitutional Freedoms and Western Heritage
While Sharia as a personal religious code is protected under the First Amendment, the caucus focuses on preventing any governmental imposition or extremist influences that could undermine America’s Judeo-Christian foundations and rule of law.
This new group represents a vital Republican-led effort in the ongoing culture war to preserve the freedoms, values, and security that make America exceptional—educating citizens and pushing back against radical ideologies that clash with the Constitution.
