Politics usually divides us all. But this is so far out of left field that everyone agrees.
Because a bizarre video of this top Democrat left both sides of the aisle scratching their heads.
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer sparked outrage Thursday with a baffling video that many are calling a disrespectful stunt.
In the clip, she feeds Doritos to liberal podcaster Liz Plank, a move that some say mimics the sacred Catholic sacrament of Holy Communion—an act of mockery that left many shaking their heads.
The video, shared on Plank’s Instagram, shows the left-wing influencer on her knees with Whitmer placing a Dorito on her tongue, all while Whitmer sports a camouflage Harris-Walz hat.

Critics quickly zeroed in on the disturbing resemblance to Communion, questioning Whitmer’s judgment.
Plank, the face of a pro-Harris influencer group laughably named “Hotties For Harris,” tried to inject some substance into the odd scene by making it about the CHIPS Act of 2022, a law intended to bolster U.S. semiconductor production.
But even her attempt to spin this into a policy moment fell flat.
“If he won’t, Gretchen Whitmer will. Chips aren’t just delicious, the CHIPS Act is a game-changer for U.S. tech and manufacturing,” Plank captioned the bizarre video.
The internet was ablaze with criticism, and for good reason. Many Catholics were outraged by the sacrilegious overtones, with Tim Graham, executive editor of NewsBusters, emphasizing, “Many Catholics are going to see this as mocking the communion rail.”
Trump adviser Tim Murtaugh was equally blunt, noting, “Gov. Whitmer of Michigan is pretending to give communion to a leftist podcaster on her knees, using a Dorito as the Eucharist while wearing a Harris-Walz hat. Do they want ZERO Catholic votes for Harris?”
The stunt highlighted the sheer lack of respect the Democrats, led by Whitmer, have for religious communities.
Conservative commentator Liz Wheeler hit the nail on the head, saying, “It’s wild that some Christians refuse to vote when Democrats obviously loathe you… because you’re Christian.”
Adding to the embarrassment, the cringeworthy nature of the video overshadowed the actual message.
Republican state representative Bill G. Schuette sarcastically mocked the Democrats’ hypocrisy by referencing their criticism of GOP VP hopeful JD Vance, quipping, “Ya but JD Vance is ‘weird.’”
But the damage didn’t stop there.
Michigan Senate Republican Leader Aric Nesbitt took aim at Whitmer’s priorities, noting, “Michigan Democrats are embroiled in controversy for $175 million they gave to a company affiliated with the Chinese Communist Party — and apparently Governor Whitmer’s response is to demonstrate that she’s lost her mind. Or maybe she’s trying to make Kamala Harris appear somewhat normal in comparison.”
Nesbitt was referring to Whitmer’s controversial support for the Gotion EV battery factory, which has raised serious concerns about its ties to China.
In a state already embroiled in controversy, Whitmer’s foolish stunt only adds fuel to the fire, highlighting her complete disregard for the values of her constituents.
