Trump inherited an absolute mess. But this reality gives everyone pause.
Now Homeland Security released sobering news from the border you have to see to believe.
The southern border just saw its best single day in over 15 years, with only 200 illegal immigrants apprehended, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced Monday—a dramatic turnaround from the chaos under Biden, where daily crossings soared past 10,000.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, the sharp decline is a direct result of the no-nonsense border policies championed by President Trump and Secretary Noem.
“President Trump and Secretary Noem have sent a clear message to illegal aliens: do not come to our country.
You will not be allowed in. And if you get in, we will hunt you down and deport you,” the department stated. “That message has been received.”
This historic drop follows a series of aggressive actions by the Trump administration to restore order at the border.
President Trump declared a border emergency, deployed the military to assist with detection and deportation, and shut down mass “parole” programs—a loophole used by the Biden administration to wave migrants through as long as they scheduled an appointment.
Without the promise of easy entry, migrants who had been waiting in Mexico are now giving up and returning home.
Trump’s tough policies are delivering the message loud and clear: illegal immigration is no longer tolerated.
The 200 arrests Secretary Noem highlighted reflect the number of illegal crossers caught by Border Patrol along the U.S.-Mexico border.
This figure marks a staggering decline compared to the Biden years when agents were overwhelmed by tens of thousands flooding across unchecked.
And it’s not just apprehensions where Trump’s policies are making waves. The administration is also cracking down on “gotaways”—migrants who evade capture.
Under Biden, gotaways soared to 1,800 in a single day, leaving communities vulnerable to criminals slipping through the cracks.
Now, under President Trump’s leadership, that number has collapsed. According to White House Border Czar Tom Homan, there were just 48 gotaways last Friday—a night-and-day difference.
The results are undeniable: stronger enforcement is working. By empowering Border Patrol and eliminating loopholes, Trump is delivering on his promise to put American security first.
Of course, not everyone is pleased.
Immigrant rights groups—many of whom supported Biden’s open-border disaster—are complaining that Trump’s crackdown is turning away asylum seekers. But after years of lawlessness, Americans are demanding a return to law and order at the border.
The message couldn’t be clearer: America’s borders are no longer open for business. With President Trump and Secretary Noem leading the charge, the era of catch-and-release is over—and illegal immigrants are getting the point.
