The Left can’t hide from the truth. Their lies will only go so far.
And now Karine Jean-Pierre tucked her tail and rain after being asked the one question she can’t answer.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was immediately put on the defensive Wednesday after flatly denying that President Biden had labeled Trump supporters as “garbage.”
During a virtual campaign call Tuesday with Voto Latino, Biden took a direct swing at former President Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden, where comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s offensive jokes—going as far as to call Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage”—had already sparked outrage. Biden piled on, saying, “The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters.”
Commenting on this shocking display, Biden continued, “His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable and it is un-American.”
But at the White House press briefing, Jean-Pierre scrambled to put out the fire:
“Just to clarify, he was not calling Trump supporters garbage,” she said, robotically repeating a “statement” Biden had issued to soften the remarks.
“He does not view Trump supporters or anybody who supports Trump as garbage,” she added, insisting Biden is “a president for all,” conveniently glossing over how voters in “red states and blue states” might actually feel.
However, critics weren’t buying what Jean-Pierre was selling, with some questioning whether she actually thinks the public would swallow such an unconvincing defense.
“Breaking wind from BSNBC!” former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee blasted:
“5 Alarm fire at the WH when KJP’s pants catch fire in spontaneous combustion after she claims Joe didn’t really call Trump supporters ‘garbage.’ She does know that we can see the video for ourselves? That we aren’t as clueless as her boss is?”
Bo French, Tarrant County GOP chair, also voiced his frustration:
“It amazes me more people aren’t appalled by the outright lies these people tell. We watched the video. He clearly called us garbage. I have a feeling the swing voters are done with this kind of BS.”
Video journalist Nick Sortor hit a similar tone in his tweet:
“JUST IN: Karine Jean-Pierre, while dressed as a piece of Laffy Taffy, says Biden ‘was not calling Trump supporters garbage.’ … even though it’s LITERALLY ON VIDEO. Again, these people think you’re stupid. Vote accordingly.”
Even White House reporter Anthony Hughes wasn’t impressed, calling Jean-Pierre’s remarks “ridiculous.”
And podcaster Matt Bilinsky saw it as a clear win for Trump, quipping, “Man was this a gift to Trump.”
It seems Jean-Pierre’s excuse tour has only confirmed to many voters that the Biden administration is out of touch, thinking Americans are blind to what’s right in front of them.
