Harris is plummeting. Her poll numbers keep dropping like flies and she’s showing no signs of bouncing back.
And this leaked phone call could put the final nail in the Kamala Harris campaign.
As Hurricane Milton loomed over Florida, Vice President Kamala Harris shared a video of herself on a phone call with St. Petersburg Mayor Ken Welch, giving the impression that she was actively involved in the state’s hurricane preparedness.
However, the New York Post reported that the video had been altered, removing a segment of the staged conversation in which Harris described herself as a “devout public servant” and criticized bureaucratic hurdles that slow down federal aid. The deleted portion totaled 38 seconds from the two-minute call.
“I am a devout public servant, but I know how bureaucracy and red tape can get in the way of getting stuff done in a timely manner,” Harris said in the omitted part of the call, according to a fuller recording obtained by the Post.
The edited clip also excluded a moment where Harris gave advice to Welch on leadership, encouraging him to inspire confidence in his constituents.
“Your folks are looking in your eyes to make sure and see something in you that lets them know everything’s going to be OK, and sometimes you know everything’s going to be OK, sometimes you don’t,” Harris originally said. In the version shared online, however, only her closing words—”sometimes you know everything’s going to be OK, sometimes you don’t”—remained.
Minor tweaks were made elsewhere in the video as well, including the removal of a filler phrase where Harris said “you know,” the Post reported.
Harris shared the video amidst her ongoing claim that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis had declined to take her phone call.
Harris had accused DeSantis of being “utterly irresponsible” and “selfish,” even as Florida grappled with the aftermath of a disaster. Despite this, as noted by The Daily Wire, the vice president played no formal role in the state’s disaster relief efforts.
In contrast, President Joe Biden’s team soon posted an update on X (formerly Twitter) confirming that Biden had spoken with both DeSantis and Tampa Mayor Jane Castor.
“Tonight, I spoke with Florida Governor DeSantis and Tampa Mayor Castor for firsthand reports on Hurricane Helene recovery and preparations for Hurricane Milton,” the post read. “My Administration is ready to support both leaders and the people of Florida with any further resources they may need.”
DeSantis quickly dismissed Harris’ allegations, asserting that she had never attempted to contact him and had no involvement in his administration’s disaster response.
He emphasized that Harris had “no role” in the process, adding that she wasn’t even part of the official chain of command for handling the crisis.
The revelation that Harris had doctored her conversation with Welch emerged as CBS News faced its own editing controversy involving the vice president.
According to The Daily Wire, CBS was accused of editing Harris’ response during a “60 Minutes” interview, prompting several U.S. Senators to demand the network release the full transcript.
In an original clip posted by CBS, Harris commented on U.S. policy in Israel, stating: “The work that we have done has resulted in a number of movements in that region by Israel that were very much prompted by or a result of many things, including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the region.”
However, the version that aired on TV replaced that remark with an unrelated comment from a different part of the interview.
These controversies highlight the growing scrutiny over how Leftists like Kamala Harris are being presented in the media, both by their own teams and the networks that cover them. It’s easy to see how they are assisted by the media in a way that should disgust any American who is watching.
