This liberal billionaire’s plot against Donald Trump just blew up in his face

Democrats of all stripes and stations are trying to stop the former president. But so far, he’s bulletproof.

And now this liberal billionaire’s plot against Donald Trump just blew up in his face.

Mark Cuban’s weak attempt to bash Elon Musk for showing up at a Trump rally was met with little more than a shrug in a high-level group chat, The Post has learned.

Cuban, the outspoken owner of the Dallas Mavericks, was clearly in the minority among a powerful Signal chat filled with both conservative and liberal elites. The focus? Elon Musk’s undeniable involvement with Trump’s 2024 campaign, which seems to have rattled the left.

Musk’s staunchest supporter in the group is none other than Vivek Ramaswamy, who took Cuban to task after the “Shark Tank” star — a vocal supporter of Kamala Harris for president — posted a message to Musk on X, urging him not to trust Trump after attending a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

But Ramaswamy wasn’t the only one defending Musk. The chat, which includes heavy hitters like conservative stars Ben Shapiro, David Sacks, Joe Lonsdale, and Shaun Maguire alongside left-leaning voices like Jason Calacanis, Larry Summers, and David Shor, saw some lively debate, with members circulating rally memes for fun.

The political and tech elite have been buzzing about Musk’s bold endorsement of Trump ever since July, speculating whether other prominent figures might follow suit.

As Garrett Ventry, a Republican Public Affairs Executive, told The Post, “Elon Musk has a sizable following, significant influence, and ‘f–k you’ money. Having someone like Elon advocating for President Trump is a game changer.”

Musk’s presence at future Trump campaign stops before the November election isn’t just likely—it’s expected, sources say. One Trump campaign aide remarked, “The Trump campaign is losing ground in terms of spending. Elon can change that.”

Rally-goers agree that Musk and Trump are a natural fit. As attendee Brian Yanoviak put it, “He’s very intelligent, very innovative. He understands what’s happening to the United States. And he truly cares about the future of our country.”

Trump’s camp also sees the strategic advantage of Musk’s massive platform, X, which boasts over 200 million followers. Musk has been using it to amplify Trump’s message, much to the dismay of Democrats.

One key issue that aligns Musk and Trump even more closely is Biden’s administration blocking Starlink from receiving $900 million in subsidies to expand rural broadband—an inexplicable decision given Starlink’s success in Ukraine and its essential role during hurricanes, providing free service to isolated communities from Florida to Virginia.

Despite this, the Biden administration has funneled a staggering $42.5 billion into rural broadband with zero results.

“In 2021, Joe Biden tasked Kamala Harris with bringing broadband to rural America…. rural America was dying for it and he gave her $42 billion to do the job,” Trump said in a recent speech. “Three years later, not a single home has been connected to broadband… everyone is saying what happened to the money. $42 billion… not one home.”

Musk, meanwhile, has made it clear that backing Trump is about preserving democracy and reducing bloated federal spending.

Sources in the tech industry see Musk’s alliance with Trump as crucial, with one saying, “These days instead of ‘what’s good for General Motors is good for America,’ it’s what is good for Elon Musk is good for America.”

Trump has already said Musk will lead a special commission focused on slashing federal spending and reforming the government.

“Trump promised him he can slash government jobs… [the kind of projects] we would all [do] if we were the richest people,” a crypto source said.

With Musk on board, Trump’s vision for America’s future just got a lot brighter.
