Trump’s Border Czar goes scorched earth on these radical Leftists

The Left hates Trump’s immigration policies. But that isn’t stopping his administration from enforcing them.

And Trump’s Border Czar went scorched earth on these radical Leftists.

In a no-holds-barred appearance on CBS News’ Face the Nation this Sunday, Border Czar Tom Homan laid into the Democrats’ push for new restrictions on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) amid the heated battle over Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding. Homan didn’t mince words, calling out what he sees as outrageous attempts to hamstring the agents protecting our nation’s borders.

The showdown comes as the White House and Congress duke it out over how to keep DHS running smoothly. Democrats are piling on a list of conditions they want ICE to follow, but Homan made it clear that many of these ideas are dead on arrival.

Host Ed O’Keefe grilled Homan on the specifics, laying out the Democrats’ wishlist. “Among other things, they’d like to require immigration agents to show identification, wear body cameras, take off their masks, stop racial profiling, and seek judicial warrants to enter private property. Which, if any, of those asks is the president, are you willing to consider adopting?” O’Keefe stated.

Homan started by clarifying his role—he’s not directly in the negotiations loop. But he quickly dismantled the idea that ICE engages in racial profiling, insisting it’s a myth pushed by critics.

“When they say, ‘stop racial profiling,’ that’s just not occurring. ICE will detain, briefly detain, and question somebody based on reasonable suspicion — [it] has nothing to do with racial profiling,” Homan stated.

Shifting to the mask issue, Homan explained why agents need this protection in the line of duty. He pointed to skyrocketing dangers facing ICE officers, making it a matter of basic safety.

“As far as a mask … I don’t like the masks either, but because [assaults] against ICE officers are up over 1,500%, and threats are up over 8,000%, these men and women have to protect themselves,” Homan said.

On identification, Homan noted that agents already announce their agency affiliation, but they draw the line at personal names. He flipped the script, suggesting lawmakers focus on real solutions instead.

“Why don’t they talk about maybe passing legislation to make it illegal to dox agents or something like that,” Homan stated. “But the masks right now are for officer safety reasons.”

O’Keefe wasn’t letting up, comparing ICE to other law enforcement who operate without masks. “You know, cops go out every day, everywhere across the country,” he stated.

He inquired why ICE needs to “wear all that and protect themselves when there are others out there wearing badges that don’t have to do that?”

Homan hit back hard, highlighting the unique perils ICE faces in today’s climate. He argued that no other agency deals with the same level of hostility and personal attacks.

“I don’t know of another law enforcement agency in the country that has an 8,000% increase in threats. Just yesterday, the director of ICE, his wife was filmed walking to work, his home address has been doxed, his kids have been doxed and filmed,” the border czar said.

Tying it all together, Homan reminded everyone of the chaos that brought us here. He blasted the previous administration’s policies that he says turned the border into a free-for-all.

“And look, let’s remember why we’re here. We’re here because the last four years, over ten million illegal aliens crossed that border, released into this country unvetted. ICE has to do a law enforcement response to deal with the last four years of open borders, where they claim the border was secure every day and it wasn’t.”

This exchange exposes the deep divide in Washington, where Democrats seem more interested in tying ICE’s hands than securing the homeland. Homan’s stance resonates with Americans tired of seeing their border agents vilified while criminals slip through the cracks.
