Biden’s time is almost up. But he has a few more tricks up his sleeve.
And now Joe Biden undercut Donald Trump big time with one dirty move.
The Biden administration appears determined to double down on its unwavering support for Ukraine in the final months of President Biden’s term.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken confirmed Wednesday that every remaining dollar of aid will be funneled to Ukraine to bolster its ability to fight Russia, raising questions about the administration’s priorities as President-elect Donald Trump prepares to take office.
“President Biden has committed to making sure that every dollar we have at our disposal will be pushed out the door between now and Jan. 20,” Blinken stated, signaling a last-ditch effort to fortify Ukraine’s position before the transition to Trump’s leadership.
While Biden and NATO leaders push for more resources to prolong the nearly three-year war, Blinken emphasized that the goal is to arm Ukraine sufficiently for combat in 2025 or to negotiate peace “from a position of strength.”
However, this strategy seems to disregard growing public fatigue over endless spending on foreign conflicts and the lack of clear progress toward peace.
President-elect Trump has been vocal about his opposition to pouring billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars into what many see as a proxy war, instead advocating for a diplomatic resolution that prioritizes American interests.
Trump’s administration is expected to take a hard look at the unchecked flow of aid and redirect focus toward restoring strength at home rather than prolonging overseas entanglements.
The ongoing war continues to take its toll, with Russia launching a missile and drone assault on Kyiv for the first time in over two months, targeting eight regions of Ukraine.
Ukrainian air defenses managed to intercept some of the attacks, but significant damage was reported, underscoring the war’s relentless escalation.
Complicating the conflict further, North Korea has sent over 10,000 troops to aid Russia’s efforts.
According to the State Department, these forces are heavily engaged in combat in Russia’s Kursk border region, where Ukraine has managed to hold territory in an offensive that has embarrassed the Kremlin.
This unusual alliance highlights the lengths to which Moscow is going to sustain its war effort, training North Korean soldiers in artillery, drone operations, and trench warfare.
Despite Biden’s rush to send more aid, questions remain about the effectiveness of this strategy. Analysts have noted that Russia has been building up forces for a counteroffensive in Kursk, but the timeline remains unclear.
Meanwhile, Trump’s forthcoming administration promises a reassessment of Washington’s role in the conflict, offering hope to many Americans weary of endless wars and unchecked spending abroad.
As the war drags on, Trump’s leadership could signal a pivotal shift toward peace and pragmatism, moving away from the Biden administration’s approach, which critics argue has only prolonged suffering while burdening U.S. taxpayers.
“America First” advocates are eager to see a new direction that prioritizes diplomacy over escalation.
