Kamala Harris caught in a lie so massive that there is no hiding it now

The Harris campaign thinks Americans are stupid and will believe her lies. But that couldn’t be farther from the truth.

And now Kamala Harris has been caught in a lie so massive that there is no hiding it now.

In what was one of his most candid press conferences to date, Donald Trump took the stage in Bedminster, NJ, on Thursday and set his sights on his likely 2024 opponent, Kamala Harris. Trump didn’t hold back, calling out Harris for her repeated promises to get things done “on day one” should she be elected, a claim he found laughable given that she is already serving as Vice President of the United States.

With over three years in office, Harris’ track record is far from the transformative force she now promises.

During the press conference, which lasted a full 40 minutes, Trump fielded questions from reporters while maintaining a clear focus on Harris. One reporter pressed Trump about Harris’ constant mention of “day one” throughout her recent rallies, asking what he would do differently to turn the country around on his “day one.”

Trump, never one to mince words, shot back, “So, she is saying, ‘When she gets in,’ but she’s in now. And especially with Biden, because, I mean, he’s not in the best of shape. But you know what, she is in there now. She can do anything she wants. And she’s still saying, ‘If you elect me, I’ll do this.’ Why didn’t she do it?” The former president’s question hung in the air as a challenge to both Harris and the media that have largely failed to hold her accountable for her inaction.

Kamala Harris has used the phrase “day one” like a broken record, as if voters have somehow forgotten she’s already been in one of the most powerful positions in the world for over three years.

Her most recent rally stops feature promises to “get tough on the border” and to build a “broad-based economy where every American has an opportunity to own a home, start a business, and build wealth.” These claims are strikingly bold coming from a politician who has, so far, failed to address some of the most pressing issues facing Americans, such as the crisis at the southern border.

In March 2021, President Joe Biden appointed Kamala Harris to spearhead efforts in dealing with the “root causes of migration.” It was a role that was supposed to address the skyrocketing number of migrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border, many of whom were overwhelming already-strained border facilities.

Harris’ performance in this role has been less than stellar. While she did meet with the president of Guatemala once, her broader efforts to stem the tide of illegal immigration have been woefully inadequate, leaving millions of Americans wondering why she hasn’t delivered on her promises already.

Trump, never one to let an opportunity to highlight his opponent’s failures slip by, wasted no time in calling attention to this glaring discrepancy. “Why didn’t she do it?” Trump asked. “It’s the easiest question. She’s already in power. If she was going to make such bold changes, why hasn’t she done anything yet?”

Harris’ “day one” promises have also extended to the economy, where she’s now claiming to fight for an America where “every American has an opportunity to own a home, start a business, and build wealth.” It’s a statement that sounds great in stump speeches but is out of touch with the reality that Americans are facing.

Under the Biden-Harris administration, economic uncertainty has gripped the nation. Trump wasted no time in driving this point home, pointing out that the average American household is paying $1,100 extra a month just to cover basic expenses due to inflation, which is skyrocketing under the Biden-Harris economic policies.

“Here is the record of economic calamity that Kamala is desperate for voters to ignore,” Trump said early on in his press conference. “She cast tie-breaking votes that caused record inflation.” Trump was referring to Harris’ role in pushing through the Biden administration’s trillion-dollar spending packages, which many economists blame for fueling inflation. The rising costs of food, housing, and energy have left American families struggling to make ends meet.

Trump’s claims about the economic burden on everyday Americans were bolstered by recent data showing that the nation is suffering from record-high credit card debt.

For millions of households, putting food on the table now means charging groceries to credit cards, adding to the already crushing financial strain.

Despite these economic and immigration failures, Harris has yet to subject herself to a long-form interview or serious scrutiny from the media. In fact, as Trump pointed out, Harris has been Biden’s running mate for 25 days this election cycle and still hasn’t done a single extended press interview. This glaring absence in the national conversation begs the question: is Kamala Harris truly prepared to lead, or is she hiding from her failed track record?

Trump, by contrast, has been far more accessible to the media and his supporters, using forums like Thursday’s press conference to address concerns head-on. The fact that Harris hasn’t held a press conference or answered extended questions from the press suggests that she’s avoiding accountability for her role in the administration’s failures. If Kamala Harris is planning to run on “day one” promises again in 2024, Trump’s challenge to her remains clear: why didn’t you act when you had the chance?

Trump’s attack on Harris’ lack of leadership is likely to resonate with voters who are frustrated with the current state of the country. Under the Biden-Harris administration, inflation, crime, and illegal immigration have all reached crisis levels, while promises of change and accountability from Harris have gone unfulfilled.

Her over-reliance on “day one” rhetoric, even after having had more than three years to deliver results, underscores a deep problem in her approach to governing.

As Trump outlined his vision for turning the country around, it became clear that the contrast between him and Harris in 2024 could not be starker. Trump, who has often been described as action-oriented, has spent much of his time since leaving office refining his message and policy goals for a potential second term.

He continues to hold regular press events, engaging with voters and the media, and laying out clear policy proposals for how he would address inflation, immigration, and crime.

Kamala Harris, on the other hand, seems to be banking on “day one” promises that Americans have heard before. But as Trump’s pointed question illustrates, Harris has yet to answer why she hasn’t already done the job she’s promising to do.
