Tim Walz is in big trouble after what Trump just threatened him with

Trump is no fan of Walz. He knows he’s incompetent.

And Tim Walz is in big trouble after what Trump just threatened him with.

The Biden-era obsession with radical gender ideology is finally meeting real resistance, and Minnesota is now squarely in the crosshairs. On Monday, the Department of Education escalated its investigation into Minnesota’s transgender athlete policies by referring the case to the Department of Justice, opening the door to severe consequences for the state.

This move puts Minnesota on the brink of losing federal education and health funding after state leaders flatly refused to work with the Trump administration. Federal investigators determined that Minnesota violated Title IX by allowing biological males to compete against female athletes.

According to reporting from The Daily Caller, the potential funding cuts would impact what Minnesota gets from both the Department of Education and the Department of Health and Human Services. The referral to DOJ comes at a time when Minnesota is already under federal scrutiny for immigration enforcement failures and alleged large-scale fraud.

Education Secretary Linda McMahon made clear where the administration stands. “As Minnesota reels from a fraud scandal, @GovTimWalz is fighting to keep men in women’s sports,” she said in a post on X. “Now, he’ll have to make his case in court.”

Federal investigators concluded last September that the Minnesota State High School League violated Title IX by permitting boys who identify as girls to play in girls’ sports.

Rather than protect girls, Minnesota’s education bureaucracy doubled down.

The state’s Department of Education claimed that Title IX “requires schools provide transgender students with the right to participate in…athletics in a manner consistent with their gender identity” and insisted that “transgender and gender nonconforming students should be afforded the opportunity to use the restroom of their choice.”

McMahon didn’t mince words in her response. “Despite repeated opportunities to comply with Title IX, Minnesota has chosen defiance – continuing to jeopardize the safety of women and girls, deny them fair competition, and erode their right to equal access in educational programs and activities,” she said to The Daily Caller.

She made the administration’s intentions unmistakable: “The Trump Administration will not stop until accountability is delivered for Minnesota’s students.”

Instead of reconsidering its position, Minnesota’s leadership turned to the courts.

Far-left Attorney General Keith Ellison sued the Trump admin because of the president’s executive order that banned men from competing in female sports.

Trump’s executive order, signed in February, bans boys and men from playing against women athletes.

The order has already sparked enforcement actions against Maine and California.

Minnesota’s defiance now places it firmly on that same list.

As Washington presses forward, the message is clear: states that sacrifice girls’ sports on the altar of progressive politics should expect consequences—and this time, they may be very real.
