Trump announces massive news about the Russia-Ukraine war

Donald Trump promised to broker peace. Now he has something big to say.

And he just announced massive news about the Russia-Ukraine war.

President Trump declared Tuesday that he is now “much more confident” that a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine is within reach after high-level U.S.-Russia talks took place in Saudi Arabia—talks that notably excluded Ukraine.

Speaking from his Mar-a-Lago estate, Trump described the discussions as “very good” and signaled that Russia is eager to end the conflict.

“Russia wants to do something, they want to stop the savage barbarianism,” he said, calling the massive loss of Russian and Ukrainian soldiers “ridiculous.”

The meeting in Saudi Arabia saw Russian representatives sitting down with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, where they reached initial agreements aimed at paving the way for an end to the war.

Ukraine, however, was left out of the conversation.

Following the talks, Rubio told The Associated Press that both sides agreed to establish a high-level team to work on Ukraine peace negotiations, restore diplomatic staffing at embassies in Moscow and Washington, and explore ways to rebuild economic ties.

Trump didn’t hold back when criticizing how the war was handled from the beginning, insisting that none of this would’ve happened had he been in charge.

“This war wouldn’t have started three years ago if I were president,” Trump said, echoing what many have long believed—his leadership would have kept Putin in check and prevented the devastation in Ukraine.

When asked whether he’d consider pulling all U.S. troops out of Europe as part of a potential peace deal, Trump made it clear that no such request has been made and that he wouldn’t entertain the idea.

However, he expressed openness to the idea of deploying European peacekeeping forces to Ukraine, stating, “he’s all for it.”

As for Ukrainians upset about being left out of the Saudi talks, Trump dismissed their frustrations by pointing out that they’ve had ample time to negotiate—but failed.

“I’m very disappointed. I hear that they’re upset about not having a seat—well, they’ve had a seat for three years and a long time before that,” Trump said.

“This could’ve been settled very easily. Just a half-baked negotiator could’ve settled this years ago, I think without the loss of land, very little land, without the loss of any lives and without the loss of cities that are just laying on their sides.”

Trump made it clear that a deal should’ve been struck “a long time ago.”

But thanks to weak leadership and failed diplomacy, the war dragged on needlessly, costing countless lives and devastating entire cities.

Now, with Trump back in charge, real negotiations are finally on the table—and for the first time in years, there’s hope for peace.
