Trump took the Swamp by surprise with a game changing threat

The federal government’s rot runs deeper than most think. And now they’re in for a rude awakening.

Because Trump took the Swamp by surprise with a game changing threat.

The Trump administration is rolling out a sweeping plan to restore accountability in the federal workforce, offering buyouts to nearly all federal employees—including remote workers—as part of President Donald Trump’s push to end the work-from-home culture that has plagued government efficiency. But employees must decide quickly, as the deadline to opt-in is Feb. 6.

From the moment Trump took office, he wasted no time in reversing the failures of the past four years. One of his first directives was a clear mandate: federal employees must return to in-person work.

“After four years of incompetence and failure, President Donald Trump is committed to making our government efficient and productive again,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt stated Tuesday. “American taxpayers pay for the salaries of federal government employees and therefore deserve employees working on their behalf who actually show up to work in our wonderful federal buildings, also paid for by taxpayers.

“If they don’t want to work in the office and contribute to making America great again, then they are free to choose a different line of work, and the Trump Administration will provide a very generous payout of eight months,” she added.

On Tuesday, a government-wide email went out, ensuring that every federal worker understood the administration’s plan.

Trump’s four-pillar approach aims to reintroduce accountability to a bloated bureaucracy: a full return to in-office work, strict oversight for employees with policymaking authority, increased accountability for senior executives, and a reformed hiring process based on merit rather than bureaucratic gamesmanship.

“The government-wide email being sent today is to make sure that all federal workers are on board with the new administration’s plan to have federal employees in office and adhering to higher standards,” a senior administration official said.

“We’re five years past COVID and just 6 percent of federal employees work full-time in office. That is unacceptable.”

The email confirmed that remote work, a hallmark of Democratic mismanagement, would no longer be tolerated. Federal employees still working remotely since COVID must now return to their physical offices five days a week.

“Going forward, we also expect our physical offices to undergo meaningful consolidation and divestitures, potentially resulting in physical office relocations for a number of federal workers,” the email read.

For those who comply with the return-to-office directive, the Trump administration expressed its gratitude for their “renewed focus” on serving the American people—though the email made it clear that their roles were not guaranteed.

For those who refuse, the administration is offering a “dignified, fair departure from the federal government utilizing a deferred resignation program.”

This program, running from Jan. 28 to Feb. 6, allows employees to resign while retaining full pay and benefits and remain exempt from in-person work requirements until Sept. 30, 2025.

Notably, the buyouts will not apply to military personnel, U.S. Postal Service employees, immigration enforcement officials, national security positions, or any other critical roles that agencies deem necessary.

“To be clear, as it was with President Trump’s executive order on Day One, implementation of return-to-work policies will be done by each individual agency in accordance with applicable law,” the senior administration official said.

“We expect 5 to 10 percent of federal employees to quit, and it could lead to $100 billion annually in savings for federal taxpayers.”

With this bold initiative, Trump is delivering exactly what Americans voted for—an efficient, accountable government that works for the people, not an entitled class of bureaucrats who prefer collecting taxpayer-funded paychecks from their couches.
