U.S. Senator gives away the game with an open challenge to the Supreme Court

Americans want safe and fair elections. But now some of the most powerful politicians aren’t going to pretend they care anymore.

And this U.S. Senator gave away the game with an open challenge to the Supreme Court.

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) brushed aside concerns over Pennsylvania election officials blatantly ignoring a Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruling by counting votes that had already been deemed invalid, sparking criticism over his apparent disregard for legal precedent.

Fetterman defended the controversial move during a Sunday appearance on CNN’s State of the Union with host Jake Tapper, who failed to challenge the senator’s remarks.

Tapper highlighted the ongoing recount in Pennsylvania, where Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) is fighting for reelection.

“Democratic officials in at least one key county, Bucks County, voted to count about 115 provisional ballots that are missing a signature, despite the Pennsylvania Supreme Court previously ruling that those are invalid,” Tapper explained.

Even Democrats have openly admitted their disregard for the court’s ruling. A Bucks County official brazenly justified her actions, saying:

“I think we all know that precedent by a court doesn’t matter anymore in this country and people violate laws any time they want. So, for me, if I violate this law, it’s because I want a court to pay attention to it.”

Tapper pointed out that even the Left-leaning Washington Post Editorial Board had slammed the move, calling it “corrosive to democracy” and warning, “county officials do not get to decide whether a legal requirement is material and must be followed. Courts do, and they have spoken clearly.”

But when pressed on the Democrats’ decision to defy the court’s ruling, Fetterman shrugged it off as insignificant.

“I think you just pointed out that it refers to about 115 ballots, and that’s not going to have an impact on this race at this point,” he said, downplaying the issue.

However, in the very next breath, Fetterman contradicted himself, acknowledging, “Where we are now, it’s very, very close.”

Fetterman then tried to pivot by suggesting that Republican candidate Dave McCormick would act similarly if the situation were reversed.

“I guarantee you, if Dave McCormick were in the opposite situation, where he was down 15,000 to 17,000 votes, he would absolutely want to have every last vote counted as well too,” he said.

Fetterman’s dismissive attitude toward upholding election laws raises serious concerns about his priorities.

Instead of standing for transparency and the rule of law, he appears willing to defend actions that undermine trust in Pennsylvania’s election integrity — so long as it benefits his party.
